Expanding Blue’s Horizons

I am somewhat new to the world of Porsche. Let’s face it, I am a newb. I have never even owned a Porsche. However one of my friends is a Porsche fanatic. In fact, he hired me to detail one of his prized possessions back in 2006 or 2007.

Oh man, this car was a beauty. And it was then that I began to appreciate Porsche. Here are some shots of his black beauty (NOTE: Pay attention in particular to the last photo on the left. That pic was a direct shot of the door of his car, post polish. That is what I would call clarity personified).openroadporsche

I was rather happy with the job I did on his car. Looks nice, eh?

Johnny (this friend of mine) actually showed the car in a competition that weekend that was held at a GTG in Williamsburg VA, and guess what? His Porsche took “Best In Show”. I was so happy for him, and a tad on the proud side if you don’t mind me saying so myself.

Anyway, it is in honor of my friend, Johnny Johnson, that I decided this past month to expand the horizons of Blue’s Travels by including posts on Porsche. Besides, VW owns a large interest in Porsche, so it is a natural progression for this web site.

In addition, I decided to include Audi at Blue’s Travels as well, owing in large part to the fact that Volkswagen and Audi share much of the same engineering platform. More on that in days to come.

In the meantime, expect to see more about Porsche here at Blue’s Travels. As I have stated, I do not know much about Porsche, so much of the information about Porsche presented at Blue’s Travels will be reprints of information anyone can find online. I prefer it this way. Since Porsche aficionados have he same standards of excellence that I do, I want to present the most accurate information as possible, and the best way to do that is to turn to the experts. Naturally, I will always credit the original authors and publications who own the rights to the original material when appropriate. By way of extension, Blue’s Travels assumes no responsibility for material written by others.

I look forward to Blue’s Travels being enhanced by the addition of Porsche.
