The images at Blues Travels are of two types: Flash and DHTML. Mostly I use DHTML. The images (and even some of the link-text on this site) are controlled simply by clicking. The images on this page, for example, are clickable thumbnails. Once they are clicked, they expand. Once expanded, they can be grabbed and moved around with your mouse. To close them, click inside the image a second time. It might take a bit of practice, but you are a smart cookie. I have faith that you will master the skill in no time flat!

2008 Final Verdict Part 1
Most of my dissatisfaction with the 2008 VW R32 derives from the fact that I was spoiled rotten by the 2004 version. With the 2004 model, VW had done what was in my mind the impossible. They had managed to find the perfect balance between sophistication, performance and sporty style with a healthy shot of testosterone thrown in, and all for a price that was a mere steal when you consider what you would normally have to pay to get such a perfectly blended mix of attributes. So, when it was announced that 2008 would see a follow-up to the 2004 R32 I was thrilled, and for lots of reasons. Sadly, as more and more facts surrounding the 2008 model leaked out I became increasingly concerned.
Well, the 2008 R32 has now arrived, and while I am clearly unhappy with some of the choices that were made in the development of the 2008 Volkswagen R32, make no mistake about it: the 20008 Volkswagen R32 is, simply put, an incredible car on it’s own merits.

UFO IMAGE As my earlier post indicates, I was out for the day with the express purpose of taking fall foliage photos with my digital camera.
I live in Central VA and happened to be in Crozet VA taking my first photos when I decided to take a few shots from my car seat.

Charleston has more charms than you can mention. Horse, driven carriages are everywhere, so watch your step. Heheh. I really enjoyed the historic district.
I pity the poor fool who has never seen Charleston South Carolina. This has to be one of the most beautiful, yet peaceful cities I have ever seen. I have seen photographs of Charleston, but visiting the city and meeting the people is simply a terrific experience. If you ever plan on traveling to the southeast of the USA, you owe it to yourself to come here.

Some of you may be familiar with my friend Woody. Woody and I met in Fancy Gap nearly two months ago, early on in my travels. Well, about a week ago Woody emailed me about a Volkswagen event happening in Charlotte NC. The event was being sponsored by GMP Performance of Charlotte NC. Since I was staying in Robbinsville NC (a few short hours away from Charlotte), it seemed the logical thing to do. Plus, it sounded fun. It would be my first Volkswagen event, and hopefully the first of many to come. Problem was that Woody let me know a good 5 days in advance, and that meant I had to stay in Robbinsville for almost a week. So, I stayed. I didn’t mind, really, because Robbinsville, NC is such a fantastic little town with lovely people. Granted, there is not a lot to do in Robbinsville, NC, but I was able to relax and that is worth the price of gold if you ask me. Yet, another fabulous reason to live in a small town!

I have discovered several wonderful places to get tremendous service and great food at a reasonable price. One is an Indian restaraunt called Milan, and another is an internet coffee cafe called The Daily Grind. Both are in Lynchburg, Virginia. :satisfied:

First sign of daybreak!
I snapped a few shots of the sunrise in Avon, NC, just before I left to head back to VA. Beach due to a death in the family. The thumbnails are clickable and expand to their original sizes. These images were taken only a few minutes apart, but what is so beautiful besides the photos themselves is the subtle differences between them as each passing moment fades into the next. I hope these do not take too long to load.
