It has been so long since I have posted here. Far too long. I had such high hopes for this blog and my future.Of course, I still have high hopes and the book that is my life is not yet finished. The chapters are clearly unfolding in suprising ways.

My Love Affair With VW’s and Blue

Posted by webmaster On March - 7 - 2006

I have owned a lot of cars in my life. Most of them have been hatchbacks. My first car was a hatchback – a Mazda GLC Sport Hatchback, to be exact. I had that car way back in, oh, 1984 or 85 I think, and you know, I really wish I had kept that car! They are nonexistent now.As a matter of fact, the GLC Sport Hatch is so rare that I have a tough time even finding photo’s of one online. Come to think about it, a GLC might even been worth some serious dollars today if it was in good condition. Read the rest of this entry »

New Car, Old Car-Saying Goodbye Is Hard

Posted by webmaster On March - 2 - 2006

If you are new to this site, then you might not know that my favorite car will always be my R32. His name was Blue. I had the car for the last two years and I drove it everywhere the four winds could carry us.

I had the time of my life with that R32, but sadly, because of the carelessness of a body shop and it’s refusal to own up to its responsibilities for damages done to that very car, coupled with some other troubles I had with the R32, I made the decision to get rid of it.

Boo Is All Bettuh! Airbag Fault and Tweetuh Fixed!

Posted by webmaster On March - 17 - 2005

Well, getting my BooBlue fixed was an ordeal. But in true excellent fashion, Terry VW came through once again! I am so lucky to have access to the tech team and Terry.

As many of you will recall, Boo (Blue) developed a glitch in his brain that conveyed some false data, stating that the airbags had deployed. More than being a nuisance, this is dangerous. For if I were to have an accident, the airbags might likely fail to deploy at all. So this was a must fix.

In addition, another problem crept up this week. While vacuuming out Blue a few days ago, I noticed the music that was piping through the front speakers of the front doors sounded strange and uneven; louder on one side than the other. Upon further inspection, it became clear that the left front tweeter was not working, which naturally resulted in the lack of frequency balance. In fact, the tweeter may never have been working at all, even from the day the car was built! I just never noticed it before, because I had nothing to compare the stock sound to.

Welcome

Posted by webmaster On September - 16 - 2004

Thus begins the Chronicles of my pilgrimage to various places I have wanted to see for a long time. Hopefully, some of you will come along for the ride. May you find the journey as interesting as I hope to myself.

When you link to a complete entry, you will also have a chance to add your own comments at the bottoom of the page. Feel free to mention anything you like, accept of course vulgarity and flaming. Also, spamming will not be tolerated.

I hope that you enjoy this Travelblog.

UPDATE 10/29/04: I want to thank everyone who has helped me from the beginning with the development of this blog. First, there was Linear of Greymatter fame. Thank you for helping make this web blog function. When my mom got sick and as her needs increased, more and more of my attention went to her (God bless you mom, I am glad we had this time together). I spent so little time online during that period that I almost forgot how to develop web sites. I had so much trouble with the layout of this site, and I was not sure I would ever get it looking like I wanted it to look. Thanks to Linear I was able to get this site off and running.

Then came Movable Type. Making the transition from one blog engine to a new one is hard enough to say the least. But many folks chipped in to help me make the move over. This one’s for all the geeks at Movable Type.

Finally, here we are at WordPress. I have to say that the WordPress Community is the best. By far, of all three blog communities I have been a part of, WP is the best. Their program is out of this world fun and I think it looks great. Of course, I hope you do as well.

The transition from Movable Type to WordPress is not yet complete. I still have all the image links to deal with and this will take some time. So, bare with us, and thanks for stopping buy.

(Editors Note: 11-22-06 Notice the dates of this post? This was my first entry. Just over two years ago. I can’t believe I have kept this going all this time. Wow.)
